Emily Fowler · 58m
I have the photos that you ordered last month, how would you like them sent to you?

Am I a good boy? The reason I ask is because someone told me that people say this to all dogs, even if they aren't good...

Edit Vaccination
Name
Description
The chikungunya vaccination is employed as an injection against the chikungunya virus, which is a type of infection passed on by a mosquito that causes fever and acute joint pain. With vaccination, the immune system gets familiar with the vaccine as well as being capable of fighting it very quickly upon contact. It is mostly targeted at those people who are at higher risk.

Additional Notes
Timing Note
The vaccination for Chikungunya is not included in the routine immunization program throughout the world. Its application is normally directed at the high-risk populations.
Effectiveness Note
Research trials have shown that a single dose produces a strong immune response in most individuals. Protective antibodies typically develop within a few weeks, significantly reducing the risk of severe illness and long-lasting joint problems caused by chikungunya.
Duration Note
The vaccine can remain effective for several months to a number of years, depending on the vaccine formulation. In the future, booster doses may be advised if long-term protection is found to decrease.
Risk Information
High Risk Areas (one per line)

Pain at the site of injection, fatigue, headache, and mild fever are some of the common side effects. Others can also have pain in the joints or the muscles soon after taking the vaccine. Cases of rare adverse events, especially live-attenuated vaccination, have been documented, especially in elderly people. Post-vaccination monitoring is recommended.

Traveller Risk Factors (one per line)

You may be at a higher risk of chikungunya if you:

Travel to tropical or warm regions

Visit areas during active outbreaks

Stay for long periods in places with many mosquitoes

Work outdoors or in healthcare or emergency services

Protection Information
Protection Title
Protection Description
The vaccine works as it makes the immune system produce antibodies against the chikungunya virus. It is this reaction of the immune system that is utilized to prevent infection or reduce the intensity of the disease. Protection reduces the chances of chronic pain in the joints as a result of chikungunya. The use of vaccination does not substitute mosquito-bite prevention.
