Am I a good boy? The reason I ask is because someone told me that people say this to all dogs, even if they aren't good...

Timing Note
Chikungunya vaccination is not part of the routine UK immunisation schedule. It is recommended for travellers at higher risk of exposure in endemic areas.
Effectiveness Note
Research trials have shown that a single dose produces a strong immune response in most individuals. Protective antibodies typically develop within a few weeks, significantly reducing the risk of severe illness and long-lasting joint problems caused by chikungunya.
Duration Note
The vaccine can remain effective for several months to a number of years, depending on the vaccine formulation. In the future, booster doses may be advised if long-term protection is found to decrease.
Risk Information
High Risk Areas (one per line)
Sub-Saharan Africa Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka) South East Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia) Caribbean islands Central and South America Indian Ocean islands (Mauritius, Réunion, Seychelles)
Traveller Risk Factors (one per line)
Travel to tropical or subtropical regions where chikungunya is present Long-stay or frequent travellers Stays in rural areas or during outbreaks Outdoor activities with high mosquito exposure Underlying medical conditions or older adults at higher risk of severe disease
Protection Information
Protection Title
Protection Description
The vaccine works as it makes the immune system produce antibodies against the chikungunya virus. It is this reaction of the immune system that is utilized to prevent infection or reduce the intensity of the disease. Protection reduces the chances of chronic pain in the joints as a result of chikungunya. The use of vaccination does not substitute mosquito-bite prevention.
